President’s Message
Welcome to the Westside
Newcomers Club of Las Vegas website. If you are looking for
instant friends and lots of activities, then you have come
to the right place. Making friends is our number one
priority. Everyone at WNC was new to the city once. Coming
to a new city without any friends can be very intimidating.
WNC is here to make your life a little easier.
Westside Newcomers is a social organization for women
started in 1992 by four ladies who were looking for a way to
make some new friends. Today WNC has grown to almost five
hundred members with over twenty
activity groups. We offer
something for everyone.
On the
first Wednesday of each month, we host a
New Member Coffee.
The coffee is held
in
the
social hall of
Desert Spring
United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive. We start our meeting at
9:30 am, and
usually finish by 10:30 am. During the hour, you have a
chance to meet us and we can meet you too. Board members
and chairpersons are there to answer all your questions and
tell you what each group offers. Please check our activity
groups included in our website.
On the
second Wednesday of each month, we hold our luncheon/general
meeting at great restaurants or casinos in the city. We
also have interesting programs after lunch. Programs
include people from the newspaper, entertainment, TV, radio,
and government. Las Vegas has many interesting people who
come to speak and share their thoughts.
I hope
after giving you a brief description of our club, I have
sparked some curiosity that will bring you to our next new
member coffee. You have nothing to lose and everything to
gain. I am looking forward to meeting you soon.
