President’s Message

Welcome to the website of Westside
Newcomer’s Club (WNC). I hope you will enjoy browsing our
web pages and that you will find a lot of useful information
within this portal. WNC is a social club, formed in 1992 by
four women new to Las Vegas who wanted friends to help them
“figure things out”. Today, it serves the ladies of Las
Vegas as a resource for meeting new friends, sharing ideas
and offers newcomers a forum in which to socialize.
The first Wednesday of every month, we
host a newcomer’s coffee where we
encourage new residents to come and mingle with us over
coffee and snacks and to learn a little more of what our
club has to offer. Our meeting place for 2009 will be the
Sahara West Library located at 9600 West Sahara Avenue
(corner of Sahara and Grand Canyon). We meet at 9:30 for
approximately one hour. During this time, the chairs of our
various groups describe what they do, where and when they
meet and how you can get involved. They are also available
to answer your questions at the end of the meeting. A
sampling of these groups includes, Chef for a Day, Golf,
Bowling, Jewelry Making, Mah Jongg, Bridge, and a very
active Singles Group. Explore the “Activity
Groups” section of this website and you will surely find
something just right for you.
On the second Wednesday of every month,
we hold our luncheon and General
Meeting. We offer two menu options at an affordable
price at each of our luncheons, which are held at various
venues throughout the Las Vegas Valley. We offer a program
at each luncheon, including our annual “Meeting with the
Mayor. This and our Holiday Luncheon are very popular.
Our various groups meet throughout the
month. We encourage you to come to the coffee, let us greet
you, and then join us for an adventure of friendship with
women just like you – new to Las Vegas at some point in
their lives!
